Amber is fossilized tree sap/resin produced by trees which grew many years ago. Amber has been valued from centuries ago to the present as a gemstone and comes in various shapes and sizes as well as different decorative objects. This fossilized tree resin has been used extensively in the production of jewellery, as an ingredient in perfumes and much more. Amber is also said to have numerous healing and natural antibiotic properties and as such have been used as a healing remedy in traditional folk medicine for many years. Amber teething necklaces are made of Natural Baltic Amber, which means that it has undergone a mechanical treatment only without changing any of its natural properties. It is believed that by placing the necklace on the skin, it warms the amber and oils of amber (succinic acid) are then absorbed by the blood stream, which relieves pain naturally.
